EP3 Upgrade

The PerkinElmer EP3 Precision Pipetting Platform is a flexible automated liquid handler for low-to-high throughput microplate applications using 96 or 384 channel disposable tip dispense heads. NanoScreen can upgrade this system in order to allow for the use of its 96 Septum Piercing Head.

The co-axial needle design on this head offers its users the ability to preserve the environmental integrity of their samples. For compounds stored under inert gas, the co-axial syringe needle can simultaneously access the sample and replace or replenish the protective gas layer above the liquid. This unique approach promises a massive time and resource savings. By directing gas flow only to where it is needed, users are assured that gas use will be kept to a required minimum. For users that do not require storing their compounds under inert conditions, the Septum Piercing Head is also being offered with a single bore needle design.

This upgrade includes:

• Removing the gripper and replacing it with the NanoScreen's manufactured horseshoe plate and stripper plate.
• Removing the small air cylinders and stroke limiter, and replacing them with a larger air cylinder.
• Minor electronic improvements.
